Rome Heritage Fund

Rome Heritage (IT) A Project of R | KBFUS Funds

The Superintendent of the Monuments and fine arts bureau manages and maintains the archaeological heritage, art-historical and monumental properties in Rome. Today the Superintendent, within the Municipality of Rome, is divided into four directions (technical; cultural heritage; museums; and promotion of cultural heritage) and in different organizational units that operate in specific sectors. The vast size of its cultural heritage and in some respects unique characteristics of its territory-the city of Rome includes, among other things, the largest historic district in the world, largely surrounded by the Aurelian walls, protected by Unesco as "World Heritage"-necessitated the establishment of a specific Superintendent.
