LEAP AFRICA (NG) A Project of L | KBFUS Funds
Committed to developing dynamic, innovative and principled African leaders.
Africa needs a new generation of credible, innovative and honest people who have a vision to move this continent forward and who will work diligently to inspire others to do that.
For over 15 years, LEAP has been working to develop ethical leaders and sustainable businesses in Nigeria with focus on youth and entrepreneurs. LEAP's mission is to: Inspire, empower and equip a new cadre of African leaders with the skills and tools required for personal, organizational and community transformation. Our leadership orientation offers a wide range of training programmes from early teens to senior level professionals and public service officers where the concept and principles of Leadership are demystified and debunked to show its more about responsibility, accountability, service, inspiration, good governance, leading positive change and creating a good society.
Using facilitator led techniques, over 40, 000 individuals, have been: equipped to take charge of their lives; empowered with leadership skills to create and demand systems and structures that support organizational and national development after participating in our programmes while others have taken initiative in solving problems in their communities and made successful careers out of it. Working with partners across the world, we have built credibility in changing mindsets, developing competencies and shaping effective leadership behaviours, and providing practical and transferable skills on leadership, ethics, civics engagement, creativity and innovation, social entrepreneurship and business sustainability.
LEAP seeks to deepen its efforts by creating an environment for Africans to access training and resources for developmental growth that will champion change and drive sustainable businesses. Our goal is to ensure that every youth is inspired, empowered and equipped with the skills and tools for personal, organization and community transformation.
Our premise for this is not far-fetched. The UN 2063 Agenda includes a forward thinking aspiration where there is an Africa of good governance, democracy, respect for human rights, justice and the rule of law: "Africa will be a continent where the institutions are at the service of its people. Citizens will actively participate in the social, economic and political development and management. Competent, professional, rules and meritbased public institutions will serve the continent and deliver effective and efficient services. Institutions at all levels of government will be developmental, democratic, and accountable."
By 2025, LEAP expects to have impacted about 10 million Africans directly and gained quantum leap in building ethical leaders and businesses to drive Africa's realization of its full potential. One critical step to achieving this vision is the creation of a world class leadership center named "THE LEAP INSTITUTE".
The LEAP Institute is a proposed leadership centre to develop next generation of young change agents across all sectors to champion the course of a new Africa. It will attract innovative youths with business oriented mindset to provide solutions to African problems.
