Preserving art treasures for the Netherlands.

Vereniging Rembrandt, for art's sake

Fifteen thousand art lovers together, that's the Vereniging Rembrandt. This growing group of art patrons has been supporting the enhancement and the protection of Dutch public art collections since 1883. The Vereniging Rembrandt has contributed to the purchase of many essential works and has thence made them accessible to everyone.

Our mission is to maintain, enrich and to pass on our public art collections to future generations.

Without the participation of private patrons, the Dutch national collection would look very different: Henri Matisse's La Perruche et la sirène and Willem de Kooning's Morning, The Springs would not be part of the permanent collection of the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam and Adriean Kocx Delft figural flower vases would not be on view at the Gemeentemuseum in The Hague. There would also be no Johannes Vermeer's Milkmaid in the Rijksmuseum and the prehistorical "Ommerschans" sword, now in the National Museum of Antiquities, could not have been returned to the Netherlands in July 2017. An these are only a few examples!

Join the Vereniging Rembrandt from overseas and become an art patron for Dutch public collections! Your membership will support the acquisitions of masterpieces to then be shared and enjoyed by everyone forever.
